Nestlé label quality earns award for AFP

July 26, 2004 -- Alcoa Packaging, a leading manufacturer of printed flexible laminations and custom thermoforming, was recently recognized by the PLGA in the Quality Awards. The Packaging and Label Gravure Association, the fastest growing organization in the package printing industry, recognized Alcoa Packaging for its excellence in printing of the Nestlé® Rolo® shrink sleeve label. In the category of “Heat Shrinkable Sleeves - more than 13%,”Alcoa Packaging received an honorable mention for the excellent continuous tone work printed across a wide web as well as the very good registration. Terry Copenhaver, Marketing Manager, Alcoa Packaging stated, “Our manufacturing facility worked very closely with the cylinder engraver to ensure that the type would be clean, clear and crisp as mentioned by the judges.” Nestlé Rolo and the many other Nestlé product shrink sleeves are manufactured at Alcoa’s Downingtown Printing Plant in Downingtown, Pennsylvania using 50 micron PETG film. Nestlé Rolo milk beverages are currently available in Canada.

Alcoa Packaging, based in Richmond, Virginia, manufactures a variety of packaging materials including extrusion and adhesive laminated pouch materials, overwraps and linerstock, blister lidding foil, thermoformed trays, cable wrap, plastic shrink sleeve body labels, and Reynolon shrink film.
